Mixed Type If Clauses

Her zaman Type 2 ile Type 3 arasında olur. Hatırlandığı gibi If Clause Type II şu anki durumlarda kullanılmaktadır:   v He is rich, so he can buy that car. (Şimdiki Zaman) v If he weren’t rich, he couldn’t buy that car.   If Clause Type III geçmiş durumlarda kullanılmaktadır:   v I didn’t study, so I failed. (Geçmiş zaman) v If I had studied, I wouldn’t have failed.   Mixed Type ise şimdiki ve geçmiş zamanın beraber kullanıldığı cümlelerde kullanılmaktadır:   I didn’t eat (geçmiş zaman) breakfast, so I am hungry now (şimdiki zaman) now.   Type III Type II If I had eaten breakfast, I wouldn’t be hungry now .   Burada önemli olan “if” alacak cümleyi yani şart cümlesini belirlemektir.   He is a lazy student, so he didn’t do his homework.   “If” yapısını ilk cümle alır. Dolayısıyla: If he weren’t a lazy student, he would have done his homework .   v The room is cold now because you left the window open. The room wouldn’t be cold now if you hadn’t left the window open.   v He is a rude person, so he told me bad words. If he weren’t a rude person, he wouldn’t have told me bad words. Genelde zaman zarfları yardımcı olur   v If we had built a subway system 10 years ago, the traffic would not be so bad today.   v If I had passed my exam last year, I would not have to follow this course now .   v If she were your real friend she would have helped you yesterday.
